Bolt driver costs in Poland
What you pay and what your partner covers

DEPartner / 2026-10-25

Driving with Bolt in Poland is about more than the fare you see in the app. Before you start, it helps to know which costs fall on you, what the platform takes and what your fleet partner covers. This guide explains it for drivers who are new to the Polish system.

The cost list every driver should check

Your costs depend on the car, your contract and the cooperation model. Not every item is paid by the driver in every model, so compare them one by one instead of looking at a single percentage.

  • Platform fees. Bolt and Uber deduct a commission or service fee from each trip. Bolt shows your earnings after this deduction.
  • Partner settlement. The rules agreed with your fleet and settlement partner, in Polish partner flotowy or partner rozliczeniowy.
  • Fuel or electricity for every kilometre you drive, including empty kilometres between trips.
  • Use of the car. A fleet car on shared shifts, a car assigned only to you, or the wear on your own car.
  • Servicing, tyres and repairs.
  • Insurance and protection against damage.
  • Documents you need before your first trip.
  • Taxes and social security contributions (Polish PIT and ZUS), which depend on your type of contract.

Why you drive through a licensed partner

Poland changed its rules for app-based passenger transport with an amendment to the Road Transport Act (ustawa o transporcie drogowym), often called "Lex Uber". Under these rules, apps such as Bolt and Uber may pass ride orders only to carriers that hold a passenger transport licence. That is why most drivers work through a fleet partner like DEPartner: the partner holds the licence, registers the car under it and handles the settlement with the platforms.

Uber's Polish requirements also list a wypis z licencji, an extract from your partner's taxi licence issued for the specific car. When you work with DEPartner, we handle the formalities: the taxi licence extract, notification to the city authority and other administrative matters.

Fleet car or your own car

Shared shifts

Drive a DEPartner car on shared shifts. Your local team helps you arrange the schedule, handover and settlement.

Exclusive car

Choose a fleet car assigned only to you. We help you compare it with shared shifts and pick the right model.

Your own car

Drive your own car with DEPartner. The vehicle costs are the main items to plan for, so ask how they are settled in your model.

In DEPartner's offer for Kraków, you drive a hybrid from our fleet in the Bolt, Uber and FREENOW apps with no deposit and no car rental fee. Fuel and servicing are on our side, and you are paid every week. Terms in other cities can differ, so ask your local office for the current offer.

Our fleet has more than 500 cars, and DEPartner offers Protektor vehicle damage protection. Our team explains how it works with your cooperation model and guides you through handover, servicing and reporting damage.

Documents and start-up costs

Some costs come before your first trip. This is what drivers prepare in Poland:

  • A Polish category B driving licence (prawo jazdy kat. B). You need to be at least 18. If your licence was issued in another country, read our guide to exchanging a foreign driving licence.
  • An identity document: ID card, residence card (karta pobytu) or passport.
  • A criminal record certificate (zaświadczenie o niekaralności) from the National Criminal Register, known as KRK. Uber asks for one issued within 30 days of your verification. You can apply at a KRK office or online.
  • Medical and psychological examinations (badania lekarskie i psychologiczne). When you have the examinations and present an invoice issued to our company for them, you will receive reimbursement of the costs.
  • A smartphone that runs the driver app. Bolt lists Android 9.0 or iOS 16 as the minimum.

How to read your weekly settlement

Bolt pays driver earnings every week, for a cycle that runs from Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59. Uber also pays weekly into your bank account. Your settlement with the partner shows your trips, the costs of your cooperation model and your payout.

Tip: keep the report for each period and compare the charges with your contract. If something does not match, ask about the specific line rather than a general percentage.

Cash trips work differently. Uber explains that for a cash trip you are paid straight away, and the app shows what to collect and the fees you owe Uber.

Questions to ask the office

  • Which costs does my cooperation model cover, and which ones are mine?
  • How is fuel settled?
  • When do payouts arrive?
  • How do I report damage to the car?
  • How are taxes and contributions handled in my contract?

At the office you will learn the settlement rules, fuel costs, payout dates and how to report damage. We will show you the current offer for your city.
